What is scar revision?
When the scar is healing, it goes through process of textile. During this time, the scar area becomes hard or pops out. It will get healed when time passes but depending on the length, color, shape, and etc, we call it a scar.
Scar revision is also a surgery which removes the previous scar but with a lot of knowhow, we can minimized the scar and make you free from the pain you have gone through.
The timing of the scar revision
The period will be about 6 months from the surgery but depending on the person, it might pass 12 months.
The cause of this is because the minute recovery process below the skin is slow.

This is used when the scar is big and after the surgery, the scar will be longer than before. As time passes, it will be improved and the scar will be less seen than before.
Z-plasty scar revision
When the direction of the scar has to be changed or skin pulling is severe, this method is used. Right after the suturing, the Z shape will be left but as time passes; it will be improved and less seen than before.
Eversion suturing
After removing the scar, gathering the inside skin and suturing is the method. If the skin is gathered right before it looks as it is popped up, the outside skin will be healed with no stress. The skin surface which is seen will have less pressure and the scar will be minimized. After the surgery, it will prevent the widening or popping out change.

Staged excision
If the scar’s width is too large and can’t be done in one time, the phased excision will be processed. By dividing the scar, the surgery will be processed by 2~3times.
Scar treatment with tissue expander
If 2~3times of phased excision is hard to remove the scar, using the scar treatment with tissue expander will be processed. The skin will be widen and the wide scar will be removed and covered.

After care is important after the surgery
After caring is as important as the scar revision. To prevent the scar spot becoming wide, scar preventing band will be used 3~4weeks from the thread removal. People who have a type of skin popping out easily, silicone material sheet or ointment will be used. Sun block cream should be put on for 6 months after the surgery.
